SHOPPING:
As the largest city in a 1,000-kilometer circle, Denver is the shopping capital of the Rocky Mountain West. Metro Denver offers 14 major shopping centers with 500,000 square feet of space or larger and numerous shopping districts with several new projects planned. Long-time residents and newcomers discover a diverse selection of dining and shopping options across the region. Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Buffalo Bill's Grave and beautiful Echo Lake at the base of Mount Evans are all Denver parks. There are 850 miles of paved, off-road bike trails in metro Denver ? the largest bike path network of any urban area in the nation. Bikes can be rented downtown on Platte Street in Highlands and in Cherry Creek North near the Cherry Creek Bike Path. Denver has more than 17 miles of kayak chutes along the South Platte River. Kayaks can be rented near Confluence Park on Platte Street. Or visit the award-winning kayak park on Clear Creek in the center of downtown Golden. This kayak course has been gaining national attention for its design. Golfing enthusiasts can enjoy one of metro Denver's 100-plus golf courses!

SENIORS
There is never a recreational lull in metro Denver. Regardless of age, there is something for everyone, particularly seniors who want to keep up with their favorite pastimes. Seniors looking to retire here will find an abundance of recreational activities from hiking and biking to boating, hunting, fishing, golf.
